G/N code
This one is for the brains trust. Can I copy and paste more than one set of G/N codes ( Say if I have a cut at 10mm and want to do a cut at 15mm) instead of running two set of G/N codes can I join them in note pad. I know I will delete some of the second G/N code. The only problem I see is the G/N number as it will start at G/N010 again. David

Depending on your controller the n numbers are largely irrelevant. Mach 3 and linuxcnc don't need the n numbers at all

the quardenents are acual values , so cutting and paisting will make it repeat the cut pattern , you will have to adjust the z axis values for each groupe of code ( where ever a Z### is )
so >???? if its dropping 3mm per run of "same xand y value " you will have to change the first groups z axis height to 12.5cut (-2.5 last value) , the second groupes to 15mm cut( - 2.5 last value) then delete the 3rd and 4th groupes of code
just delete the header code of the block you paiste , and the footer code of the orignal ( important is mach3 sets the RPM and turns you spindle on )
might be easyer to use the scale , main page near Z axis position box , so the z axis cuts too 15mm in the same code used to cut too 10mm , you might have to back off the Feed % cince your cutting deeperhow come a 10mm peg dont fit in a 10mm hole

I would solve your particular problem by lying to the machine and telling it that when it is at say Z= 20mm, that it is at 25mm. The machine will then cut and extra 5mm deep.
This is a handy way of overcoming a small depth problem and I use it all the time.
For example: I often cut 6mm thick aluminium and tell the machine to cut to a total depth of 6.1mm. I use a standard Z of 20mm clearance. Sometimes (for various reasons) this will leave a small web on the bottom of the cut, so when the job is finished I tell the machine that it is at 26.1mm height and I then allow it to compleat a single cut at the new depth. This new first cut is then really at a depth of 6.1mm plus whatever the DOC I had set in the program.Bob Willson
The term 'grammar nazi' was invented to make people, who don't know their grammar, feel OK about being uneducated.

It works. All I did was with the first set of G codes was delete the last part of the code and with the next set delete the start cut and paste all done. David
