Default First Cut is Backwards !!

So stoked !!! I finally did my first cut (photos to come) and the machine worked great except for one thing.... it turned out as a mirror image on the X axis - D'Oh !!
Just wondering, to fix this, is it as simple as swapping around the settings for X+ and X- in Mach3? If so, which ones?

    Cheers,
    Row.

From memory you just go to config > ports and pins > motor outputs > then the DIR LOW Active column and change the red "X" to a green tick, hit Apply then ok and you're set.

Thanks Pete - I'll give that a go.

Here's the logo that was used (as it should be) and as you can see the image is mirrored on the cut piece.
Even though it's backwards, it's so cool to finally cut something!

It was cut with a 6mm end mill which is why some of the detail is lost - approx. 150mm dia.

Or change the wires around on your stepper.

Doesn't sound like you tuned your machine? You should spend the time to make it right. I assume you bought the unit?
If you change it in software you need to change the jogging keys around too otherwise it will be reversed

Good to see you producing goods with it. Whats the main aim for you, what do you wish to make with it?

I've built the machine from scratch myself and have done some tuning already.
I'm really happy with how the machine ran except for the one error with the x axis.

I did many test runs cutting air to make sure I was comfortable before trying it out on the real thing - just didn't pick up on the mirroring.
Speed wise, I'm still being conservative but I'm sure as time goes by I'll be able to increase that.

Main use will be for hobby applications - sign making, modelling, and maybe even a guitar body etc.

I think I'll swap the wires over on the motor as that will be almost as easy as the software changes.

    Cheers,
    Row.

You can also go to Config >Homing/Limits and check the "Reverse" box.
