Thread: My first DIY machine

Hi all,

Newbie CNC'ist here. I've just knocked together my first machine. It's very agricultural, but I consider it a learning experience for the next one

I think it's way over-engineered, but I figured I'd re-use some parts at a later date on a larger machine... In it's current configuration it can handle jobs up to 200 x 250 x 50.

The drive screws are 1/4" all-thread with 2 nuts per thread, coupler at one end, and recycled motor bearings at the other.

Misc fasteners, all-thread, MDF etc, $27

For a grand total of $350.

I already had the Dremel, so that's not included. I don't have a computer or software yet, but the keypad is fine for playing at the moment.
