Dust boot for cnc router
Hi there, I am starting to build a dust boot for my cnc router and I am looking for a supplier for the nylon dust brush material, preferably in Victoria, but anywhere in Australia will do
as long as I don't have to wait for two to three months delivery from China.

How long do you need the brush material to be?

This crowd does brush strip but it’s aluminium backed.

I tried the truck spray brushes, too stiff for anything but shallow profile cutting where there isn't much height difference.

+1 for busybee. I spoke to a guy from there regarding what to use and he suggested a few different sizes for my dust shoe. Ended up making a base that is permanently fixed to my spindle and two attachments with different brush heights. For both dust shoe attachments I layered a softer, thicker outer brush with stiffer inner brush so when the dusty is running, it doesn't suck the softer brush up and away from the work piece. The dust shoe attachments are held to the base with neodymium magnets so quick to remove for tool changes, etc.
Edit: This is where the inspiration come from (Only thing I did different was to shape the inlet with a bell mouth curve for better flow.)

Here's a thread from a while back containing the link... the bad thing is looks like they no longer carry the product as the link is no longer valid.

However being a fastcap distributor they can probably get the product in for you.

I got mine from China. Arrived in a week. I would buy a few as I ended having different iterations of my dust boot and they are cheap
