new flexible vac hold down design
This design is the best so far as with different o rings you get different hold down techiniques
with 4 of these hold downs ,you7 get a lot of vac power to hold a large surface area
Took about 40-45 minto make

Hi Woodman
What software did you use to design the hold downs? Would you care to share the design software file?
What size is the 'O' ring rubber?
what vacuum pump is used and do you store the vacuum or just rely on the pump to pull the piece down?
Sorry so many questions!

Guys, if your interested in a Vac table, there were good threads started ages ago here on the subject.
Here are the links:

So, i spent 10 minutes and drew up Gregs table layout for anyone who wants it.
It is spaced as per the Zone thread.

vac hold down designs
I used aspire 4.0 to design the hold downs after many different designs this one is flexible and very usefull
The O rings are about 5/16 diameter and came in a package of three ,so one can use each puck 3 differnt ways or sizes
I am using a 1/3hp oil free gast paump whicjh is rated at 21 in mercury. It will run 4 of these hold down devices,i asked about a vac staoarge (tank)
and found that if you can put up with the noise its better to just run the pump all the time, the noise is white compared to the router abd dust collection.
It works very well and it was affordable
I don't share files
