I really will need the location of the event very soon, as I will be driving up and out of touch.

Ok, sorry that it has taken so long, but we are holding the BBQ at St Mary's Trade Training Centre, here is a map if it works...
https://maps.google.com.au/maps?safe...d=0CIoBEPwSMAA
The entrance is off Sunbird Drive, which is a left turn after the School, drive about 500metre's down Sunbird and there will be a gate which leads to a carport. We will have some signage on the day to help once you get closer.
Please refrain from ringing the school, I am happy to answer any more questions regarding getting there.
Getting close now, look forward to catching up with everybody.
Russell.

Next to mention for those from out of town, there are heaps of accomodation options in Cairns, but two I thought I should mention are
The Cairns Coconut Resort : Cairns BIG4 caravan parks and accommodation » Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort
and Cairns Gateway Resort : Cairns Gateway Resort
Both of these are located very close to the School, just down the road.
Cheers.

Another thing to mention, we will have a BBQ onsite, the plan for the day is to bring your own meat/snags whatever, at about lunch time we can fire up the BBQ. The guys did this in Melbourne the time I was there and it works well as there is no shortage or excess of food due to more or less people turning up than expected.
I was hoping to at least have some local caught fish to throw on but the weather has been a bit ordinary here for the last 6 months so the old freezer is bare.
There is an IGA about 3 minutes drive from the venue and I think there is a butcher across the road from the school but I have to double check that, not 100% sure.
I have yet to find out about coffee/tea...most important !
Cheers.

I know of a couple of people that are coming that have asked to remain anonymous as far as the list is concerned, if there are no objections I would still like to put their name in the hat on the day for the draw. As far as I am concerned they have registered with me that they will attend.

First turn left after St Gerard Majella School.

Better be quick with bookings, it is Cairns Show Week End, not too many rooms available, Show Day is Friday, shops closed.Every day is better than yesterday
