Bob
Maybe shorter than Dorothy but wider.
Can't wait for the doctors to work out how to get rid of the triplets and look normal again
Forgot to give a big hello from Lee. Just like Dorothy, he expected to just chauffeur me there, then go back to our accommodation and wait for my call to come get me.
He never made it out the door until lunchtime when he went to buy tucker, then stayed the rest of the day. He now understands about CNC and why I am so fascinated by it.
We will both be there next time.Every day is better than yesterday
Cheers

Hey guys just a quick message that I haven't contacted the software vendors for the prize's, bit of a long story but basically in the weeks leading up to the BBQ I decided it may be fun to totally re-arrange my desktop PC's and mix up all email correspondence regarding the software prizes, nothing is lost, just spread around a bit. Add a crazy busy work week and here we are.
At the latest I will get all the details sent away to the sponsors by Saturday.
Cheers.
Russell.

Get Lee to check his email, I sent him info on that, his prize was a newfangled mill wizard licence.
Let me know if he doesn't have anything yet.

Is anyone likely to post some photos of the day for us poor disappointed suckers that couldn't attend to look at?

Tried to fire up my machine today, first time since the BBQ, it seems the Z axis drive didn't like the trip home, at first I thought it was just blown but after turning the leadscrew by hand it seems it has lost its settings, as it kinda tried to hold position but let me turn it two turns before fighting back.
Oh well at least it worked on the day haha.
Only problem it was about two years ago I set the PID parameters and I am pretty sure I didn't write them down...oh well they say you don't learn anything if everything works !

Well luckily for you the Z axis doesn't need PID settings, it is only the spindle that uses them.
All you should need to do at the most is re-enter the Mach ports and pins, but it sounds more like a loose or broken wire to me.Bob Willson

Actually it does use them, I am running servo's on the 'ol red beast, using the Elm Chan high power version. I just need to plug into then serially and re-enter the settings. Luckily I can plug into another axis and read its settings and start with that.
Ha Ha that was my first thought, unfortunately I think it will be a little while, I am a slow builder/learner lol.
