I've decided laptops and CNC's dont mix. I took my PC out to the workshop again as my CNC kept missing steps and I figured the laptop was causing the problem. Sure enough after 2 hours of milling and it not missing a beat I've come to the conclusion it's time to get another PC.

Just check the dell website I had some problmes as well then I realised I had forgotten that you had to load drivers in a certain sequence this was written on a support doc probably one for yours as well.
Chipset Drivers then Intel CPU Drivers then video drivers followed buy network drivers if you get it #### about you have problems and have to roll it back and start again something I had forgotten about from my tech days and one of the reasons I hated Dells but for $115 I will live with it must remember to do an Ghost image in the morning.I like to move it move it, I like to move it.

Yea it was mentioned here before but I believe they wanted some ridiculous premium price for it.
That was back a while ago maybe its cheaper now?

Time to move this project along... I changed my mind on the smaller gantry and became the owner of a huge chunk of aluminium 160mm x 80mm that sat on the floor for the past few months. Till again I needed a larger CNC and thought I better get moving. I completed a little more on the plans and today bought some steel.... all the blue parts.
oh... here 's my chunk of aluminium.
So... on with the build. Now to add the details of the aluminium gantry to my drawing to make use of the channels.
