Hi Guys, I know I am a bit slow but since you mentioned Draftsight I have been trying to install it with out success on my Linux PC, turns out it wasn't just me causing the problem (not totally anyway).

To install on a Linux PC you need to use GDebi package installer instead of software centre or synaptic.

May not be Earth shattering news but since you guys mentioned it here I thought it may help somebody following the thread.
