Laser marquetry from a photograph - video
Hi, I thought woodworkers in this CNC thread might be interested in my laser marquetry technique in setting up files to cut from a photograph. I'm a long-time woodworker and tech guru, and have recently mastered the process of laser-cut marquetry. I just uploaded a laser marquetry how-to video to instructables.com in a contest to win a laser cutter. If you like the video, please vote for it, I'd really appreciate it... if I win the laser, I am available to cut work for forum members! (Sorry about the shameless plug) Thanks! Here's the link:

Good work on the marquetry. I wish you well in the competition.
Perhaps it is the movie but there looks to be a very pronounced black line between the lighter veneers.
I read that you have looked at CNC cut inlays but did not like the rounded corners.
Worth taking a look at the V-carve inlay technique. Gives an extremely tight precise fit and no corner rounding at all.
By the way it did not take long for your instructables topic to be dragged off into politics.
