Learned a lesson today
When I went to connect the spindle to the inverter, I thought the wires were strange colours.
Red, black, brown and blue.
Just to be sure, I lifted the cap on the spindle and checked the wiring inside.
No problem, green/yellow = earth, blue = V, black = W and yellow = U.
Still feeling a bit uneasy about the cable, I did a continuity test.
WHOA
red = earth, brown = V, black = W and blue = U.
Boy am I glad I didn't just connect it up as per colour.
I de-soldered and connected the wires correctly.
Only problem I have now is, that I do not have an earth terminal in the inverter, at least I cannot find it.
Is it OK to just connect the earth wire from the cable to the power connecting cable? Plus an extra earth to the chassis.Every day is better than yesterday
Cheers

Well, something happened on the way to the forum
I connected everything up, plugged it into the power supply, it said "hello" continued onto 000 then something flashed on the screen and the circuit-breaker tripped.
After a couple of times I gave up.
Where the heck do I find the earth terminal?
I have power terminals R and S plus one connection with high voltage warning on the label and no screw inserted.
Then I have a yellow label with P, PR and N. The N screw has been sealed with white silicon?
Then I have Motor terminals U, V and W.
The rest are the green connector blocks for weird and wonderful settings that I don't need at the moment, I just want the spindle to run.Every day is better than yesterday
Cheers
