Limit/home switches
I was looking at the connection diagram from Homann Designs and I am a bit confused on what I actually need when it comes to home switches and limit switches
Do I need both ?
Where do I put them?
etc

You don't have to have either. But they do make life a little easier. You only really need to have one set of switches and just tell Mach that they are both home switches and limit switches.
As to where you should put them. Look at your machine and see where they may be situated at the limits of travel on the X and Y axis that make it easy to service them but so that they are out of the way and will still do the job.
I really don't see the need for switches on the Z axis.Bob Willson

Thanks Bob,
I already have a position for the X-axis and think I have worked out the Y-axis position.
Since they are hooked up in series then there should be no problem using the same switches mounted on the gantry to serve as the X-axis limits hitting stoppers at either end of the travel.
