    Default Linear bearings

I bought 4 x 16 mm linear bearings in eBay.
I found a loose ball-bearing in one of the plastic bags after I had taken all 4 out of the packaging, so I don't know which one it came from or whether it did come from one of them at all.
Would it be safe to use them?
It is for the Z Axis and the shaft is 300 mm long.
Would probably cost me as much in postage to return them as I paid for them.
Every day is better than yesterday

    Cheers

I suspect it's OK to use with one ball missing. However, there is plenty of information on the 'net on how to remove clean and replace the balls, including checking their clearance and their number - even how to change the prelad by chaning the ball size by fractions. So you can actually put the ball back if it did come from one of your bearings.

Well I tried to use them as they were
    NO, IT DOES NOT WORK.
One ball falls out, there is movement in the race and more balls just keep on falling out
I actually now have 2 bearings with lost balls
I am getting all 4 replaced.

After spending an hour searching, I gave up looking for that information. I must have asked the wrong way because not one useful answer came up
