Thanks for that Cliff, amazing what machines can do now days. Be ideal for someone who is unemployed, to start working for themselves, making house signs and numbers. No wonder pattern makers and the likes are out of a job. When you get yours, let us know how it goes.

It's an evolution of the ShapeOko platform but I think the Inventables and ShapeOko people have split apart or something?
Shame that shipping to Aus adds a few hundred dollars to the cost, still not bad for under $2k if you don't need a big surface area, could definitely start a business around a machine like this.
Interesting comment about the freebie review machines, I've seen a dozen or so of my YouTube subs suddenly get X-Carves to build and review. Interesting marketing exercise, I wonder how much it will transfer to sales.Michael

Australian supplier
I'm pretty sure most of the parts for the cnc router can be sourced right here in Australia.
I've been to the premises in Mentone and witnessed the construction of some really nice gear including a camera slider.
Their site is here http://www.makerstore.com.au/
Steve's a nice bloke to deal with.

The X-Carve and ShapeOko are nothing special, just aimed at people who want to buy a complete kit with a strong support network.
Something equivalent can easily be built from locally sourced parts, cheers for the link.
Looks like he has parts for the http://openbuilds.org/ OX, which I was considering building.Michael
