Default I have named it sloppy.

Hi guys just thought I would drop in and say G'day well thought it was best as I had a couple of emails asking if I was still a part of the living world.

So what Have I been doing well Built a machine in a week about three months ago and going to Tafe full time doing the cert III in Aged care lol but hey its keeping me sane and I am enjoying it.

Ok so onto the machine 7 day build with lots of stubby breaks, I used the Z axis off my small machine for the time being as it was the quickest and cheapest way to get it going.

    Frame is 25x3 SHS,
    Rails sitting on 75x50x3 RHS
Bed 25x3 SHS should have Used 40mm may re do that at Xmas now that I can weld.

Welded and with a tolerance of 1mm yep my machine is welded helps when you have an Israeli welder for a mate that lives over the road lol taught him everything I know its fantastic watching a pro at work.

    Cutting area is 900x1200x150

Gantry sides are hybrid Glued and sandwiched MDF will change to ALU when I get a chance or some more $$ I think I will just get them laser cut.

    100x100x3 SHS for cross beam

All metal came pre-cut easy that way and to the MM gota love the Bennets steel guys out at Wauchope and it didn't cost any extra .
    .
Standard stuff from our mate on ebay. 20mm Rails and Blocks etc and Screws.

Also nicked the motors and Gecko controller off my the little wonder will need to upgrade them next month when I get back from Tassie as I can only push 2m a min otherwise they stall also have to use Exact stop it sux but it works for the time being and is making a few $$ for me doing work for me around town.

So need to upgrade the motors as well as the Gantry sides Motors first and get started on the MODio thingy as well also need to reinforce the bed a little.

PS: this was only to be a sloppy panel making machine but its accurecy is just as good as little wonder so I cant complain actually I am very happy.

Anyway Happy times now just need to add that 4th axis Greg .

Estimated cost well 2.5k I think not including software and borrowed spindle off the little wonder.

PS: your right Rob I need a bigger one now lol.

Only problem so far wasleaving the aligator clip on the spidle when doing a Zero and then turning the spindle on that got real nasty .

ill do more picks when I get the chance sorry about the quality used a camera phone.

Looking great. about the gantry sides I think you will need to get them cut with a waterjet as all the businesses around here I have asked say they can cut a maximum 10mm mild steel in which aluminium would be harder to cut.

But getting quotes from the waterjet bloke down the road he was happy to do small stuff and not charge through the roof.
