NC1 Files
Hi All,
Is anybody able to tell me what an NC1 file is, I believe it to be a Numerical Code.
I have a friend that has asked me if I can assist him. He needs to know whether this can be generated from AutoCad or is there a file convertor or something that will allow him to work/draw with these files.
I hope I have explained it clearly enough !
Thanks
Tony.

hi,
NC1 files are numeric codes for processing...
Acad itself cannot produce NC code.. This needs to be done by either a dedicated program, or an ACAD add-on... neither of which are cheap..
What exactly is he needing the NC code for?.. My daily job is as a steel detailer, and i can code steel if needed.

Hey Andrew - Nice to see another steel detailer on here!
I think the AutoCAD Structural Detailing package may be able to output DSTV formatted files (.nc1), but not standard AutoCAD. There is a 30 day free trial available, so he could always give it a go.
The only other option is to use dxf files (if the target machine will accept them).
