DSC_0291.jpgDSC_0294.jpgHave been doing bits of the build as much as I can. Ran the spindle up and all good, I do have a question about the wiring from the VFD to the controller. On Homann wiring diagram it say to connect from pin 9 to VFD VR(+10) but I don't have a VR(+10) but I do have a 10V and next to that on the board is three pins and a jumper VI/VR. I take it that I have to use the jumper to make the VR.
    Thanks David

I have just hooked up my spindle to mach 3 and I connected pin 9 to 10v, pin 8 to VI, pin 7 to ACM. I didn't touch the jumper at all. I have put a switch in between FOR and DCM until I get a relay.
I also had to adjust the motor outputs for the spindle in ports and pins. I set Step Port and Dir Port to 1 and then everything started to work. (I had also loaded the xml file from Gecko http://www.geckodrive.com/g540-xml-file so the adjustments were done to their file)

    Regards

    Warrick

Just to clarify what I did with the switch I used it instead of the auxiliary relay output in the attached drawing
It is telling the VFD that you want to run in a forward direction without this it will go no where.

Well I have done most of the wiring as per PDF. When I power up I get the green power light but as the computer starts I get the fault light and the power light. I take it there is an issue with the computer. I have changed it to EPP mode and had a look at the set up in Mach3 but still no luck. Any hints?
    Thanks David
