    Default Planet-cnc

    Has anybody tried these?
Look interesting and newer computers with USB ports can be used.
It is getting more and more difficult to source old computers with serial (or is it parallel?) ports.
The price is not too bad either.

Yes, I do know about the smooth stepper.
Just wondering whether anyone had tried this one.
Nice to have different options and you don't need Mach3 which I think is getting a bit long in the tooth.

I believe you posted in the Big Bamboo thread at CNC Zone today? That machine uses the Planet CNC control.

I've heard quite good things about the planetcnc controller and software. The pricing model annoyed me a bit.

I've ended up with LinuxCNC and find it much better than mach3. I eventually will probably buy some mesanet hardware step generators (e.g 5i25 which are significantly cheaper than smooth stepper)
