price for parts
Hi all, I am currently looking at improving the movement of an xy table on a morticer, what I am interested in is some generic sort of rough prices for shafts, bearings and bearing blocks to give me an idea, I'm sure those that have built CNC machines have been thru this.
The existing is 20mm (19.45 measured) shaft so I will replace with some straight hardened shaft and replace the existing bushes with some linear bearings.
So what is the usual for 20mm shaft per metre and for said bearings, also I see the bearing blocks might be useful so if anybody has any current sort of costs for these parts be most appreciated

eBay seller linearmotionbearings is the place to look. Most of the CNC builders here will have dealt with them.

Hi,
Do linearmotionbearings have square linear rails also?....have only seen round on their site.
Is there a direct email address to contact for questions?
Cheers....Kym

I had a quick look and found an item that suits for about $80, just bearings and shafts, plus mounting blocks if needed, I then have machining costs to make it all work, what I'm thinking is to go with square shafts and make up my own slide using ball bearings, makes it easy to mount it that way, well I think so at this point
