Default Reference "X" on complex multy CAM jobs

as a newbie to cnc and setting my self a huge task ,i thought i'd ask

whats anyone's experience on running jobs with mutable "g code" programs

i have a 3 sided violin rib mould that i have to flip over to machine 1 side ,i will make a vacuum holder out of MDF to fit the contours and hold it solid and hope an edge finder will line it up fine (pic 1)

the violin plate mould is easy to machine , but the edges of the carbon fibre will be rough , and i need references to cut the shape out of the finished plate , so i added some 1mm high X's on the out side of the shape , should be easy enough to zero the axis again , once again i will have to machine up an MDF holder ,with holes for vacuum (pic 2)

is there any easier way ?

I'm not too sure what you wanted to do but is it possible to create a fixed base with locating holes for pins then machine some MDF pieces to hold the violin which also has its own locating holes, and just insert the pins to align it all.

You could then also reuse the MDF mold to hold the violin and just drill new holes to easily reference it on the router at a later date if doing multiple violins, and if you need to machine the underside you just need a new mold and only need to set the Z axis unless you already know how much higher/lower the new piece is.

Hopefully that's somewhat easy to understand

yer pegs would be a good idear , a bit more to the mass production side , still R&Ding them at the moment

once the moulds are carved and polished , 2-3 coats of clear will be sprayed on them ,
put back in the CNC for some purf lines ( paint pen ), might coat them then in pearlex , then carbon fibred

back in the cnc once hard to grind the graduations (thickness) , last layer of carbon fibre after testing

back in the cnc for cutting out the shape and f holes
