    Hi Steve, he is buying a new plate to replace this one. The bearing blocks seem to have half a mm variance.

    We will see how it goes i guess.....easier to build a machine from scratch than to try and fix a mess i must admit

    Today i machined a new plate.....now the bearing block's fit perfectly. Smooth motion as it should be

    Almost finished with the machine. I basically had to re solder every connection.

    Used temporary single core cables for the spindle, routed them together with the stepper cables. I was surprised that they did not cause any noise issues

    Anyway the first test piece was on size and square

    That Hertz spindle looks like a solid bit of gear. How did you end up shielding the supply wiring?

    Yes they much better than the chinese water cooled units. For testing i just used three single core cables. No noise issues....the screened dragchain cable arrived just as the client picked up his machine. I will install that on sunday when i finally set up the machine.

    I might be bringing in a few hertz motors if anyone is interested....shipping is very expensive so it helps to bring in more than less

    Nice...just give me an idea of kw voltage and speed, i use a 1.5KW 18000rpm 220V motor on my machine
