Request for information
Request for information
Good day;
To start with, I have a Huanyang Inverter from China. BOB is a PMDX-122. and a C-6 Speed control board, all running off of a Warp-9 Smoothstepper.
So far, when I pull up the Mach-3 screen, Load a g-code and click in start, spindle setting @ 100% I have 10VDC leaving the C-6 Speed control Board going to (VI) and Ground to (ACM) on the inverter. I have (CW/NO) going to (DCM) and (V/IN) going to (FOR) on the inverter. (All 00000 flashing on the inverter)
In the inverter programming, PD001 and PD002 are set to 1, (for external control).
When I start the program, the relay clicks on the speed control board, the LED comes on, and the X,Y,Z axes start to move, but the spindle does not start.
What am I missing?

Hi,
We need more information like your outputs and mach 3 setup. I haven't used a CNC4PC C6 but when i get home tonight i will read up and see what i can find for you but i would have to think that your problem may actually be the step/direction signal setup on the C-6. It could be mach not sending the step/direction signals properly due to setup or an enable not being passed. Good news for you is cnc4pc on the c-6 page has heaps of information and wiring samples. Try this one and it should show the whole setup.

I have mach set up correctly. If the step and direction were not correct, I would not be getting the 10vdc to the output. in ports and pins config, Step is on 14 and dir is on 16, Step is giving me 10vdc on the output when speed is set at 100%. when I reduce it to 50% the voltage drops to 5vdc and at minimum speed, 0 vdc. that is correct. The Dir is giving me a LED on CW relay and the relay is working.
I have been talking to Auturo at cnc4pc and he has confirmed by my xml file that this far everything is correct.
For some reason, the spindle will not start through mach. The vfd is also set for external control.
Your help is always welcome.

No worries at all, really just wanted to see which way your setting it up (either Direction & enable or CW-Enable & CCW-Enable).
Having a very short spell to read the first post again, i think you need to review your connections to the VFD.
DCM, is a common for the VFD from the relays so the VFD references the output either high/low. Then your Forward terminal should be connected to the direction relay since you are setup to run direction using the spindle setup on step and direction pins. This means For(since you only said this is connected) should be set to the N/O pin (safer).
So you will need to re-read your documentation. I don't have time atm until later tonight. But i would think setting your VFD FOR terminal to the N/O of the direction relay on the C6 and finding the DCM terminal connection of the C6 whether it is using the enable relay N/O terminal or if the VCC_In is the common. Get this right and i think it should fix your problems.
