High Speed Spindle
I recently bought a Tormach PCNC1100 mill, with it I got a high speed spindle, which is basically a 100watt Dremel and the mounting bracket, for engraving etc. The problem is the one they sent me runs on 110 volts? I am looking for an Australian supplier of the same thing but would prefer a bit more power, 500watts or so, anyone know where to get one?

Not sure but you might also have the hassle of machining up a new bracket for holding the die grinder
You can get 220V-110V transformers pretty cheap on ebay this is the first one I saw
240v 110v Step Down Stepdown Transformer Converter 300w (eBay item 260708906541 end time 15-Jan-11 17:33:36 AEDST) : Electronics

Just a thought. Did you get it direct from Tormach or through their Australian reseller?
If it was through the Australian reseller, it might be worthwhile checking to see if they are legally required to supply a 240v complaint model.
Oh.. and some photos would be nice, those Tormachs look like nice machines.

John, I got the machine direct from Tormach I will try and organise photos soon, the Australian reseller has only just come onto the scene recently and I only found out about him on the weekend, he dosen't have any stock at the moment.
Chris, its only a 100 watt spindle I think a more high powered one might be better anyway. Tormach now sell a Kress 800watt one and I did a search and found there is a mob in Germany selling them so i will probably order on this afternoon.

No idea what I am going to make with it yet, still have to learn how to work it! Maybe an Ark if it dosen't stop raining soon! I received a Haimer Zero Master from Tormach this morning, great looking bit of gear and just can zero X,Y and Z with it.
