Squaring gantry
Hi.
My Gantry appears to be just under 1deg out of square.
I can't see how to adjust it.
Where do I look for an adjustment mechanism?
It's like this one....

Does it have a motor on each side of the table for the X-axis? You might be able to loosen the rack on one side and give it a tap/push

just to clarrify
the X-Y plane is the surface the work piece sits on
the X-Z plane is along the work piece
the Y-Z plane is across the work piece and travels along the X-axis drive rods-- and could be adjusted as suggested by Elan
so if the problem is the X-Y plane, one side of your gantry is a bit higher than the other?regards from Alberta, Canada

Thanks for the above. So the cutter travelling along the X axis drive is not at right angles to the travel on the Y axis drive - so bear with me -
the Y-Z plane is not square to the X-Z plane so a programmed square cut on the work surface ( X-Y plane ) is not 4x90deg.
Haver I got it right?

OK guys - I need help with this one - anyone eat mandarines? Read and understand, then tell me:
"Dear Robert
You can see the photo ,connect the machine body and gantry , It has some screws, first you should loose them .
Then you should push the machine gantry to the end of the machine ,or put the gantry to the headmost . (this will be easier to caculate the how much distance from Y axis gantry to the machine table )
last ,you should use a ruler to check the distance from Two Y axis to the headmost . you must can find one Y axis is 7mm nearer than another Y axis ,So Push the Y axis which is near the headmost behind a little ,then use a ruler to make sure they are one same line .
Then finished ,you can ajust .Thank you "
Cherry is very charming and works very hard but I need help with 'headmost'
) Can't wait until tomorrow!!

Headmost: head = top, most = very, so maybe it means to push the gantry to the very top of its travel which would be the zero end of the X-axis

Headmost means to the front of the Yaxis.
So I've loosened the screws but I cannot move the beast - need a bigger hammer - anyway onward and upward!!

I would loosen the screws on BOTH side of the gantry, just in case the one you are trying to adjust is already fully adjusted. (ie No more room left to adjust)
PS That looks like quite a nice machine. Do you have a link for it?Bob Willson
