Seeing the quality of that makes me want to make my own 3D printer.
About how much does it cost to make your own. Or can I borrow yours to make the parts to make my own?
I actually have quite a few parts but they are probably way over specced for requirements.Bob Willson

Haha I'm kinda scared now
I was the same, I though that they were just a bit gimmicky and just a bit of a fad for people with too much time on their hands, but after I saw what my mate was doing with his, making machine parts, covers etc I was impressed enough to get my own.
My printer does actually use several 3d printed parts, that my mate printed for me (you remember Dave from the BBQ ? Had the little chinese mill with rotary axis milling wax) some like the extruder assembly pieces I downloaded and some like the bearing/pulley mounts I drew myself.
I used whatever I had lying around to reduce costs (my build budget was about $10.00 which included coffee) if I did it again I would probably do a few things differently, I built like a standard CNC machine, Geckos, linear rails, LinuxCNC, I had the Geckos already so that seemed to make sense, now you can get something like the Ramps controller that does everything, temp control for both extruder and the bed, stepper drives onboard basically all electronics including machine control, g-code interpolation all for around $130.00 bucks, other than that it is just a small 3, I mean 4 axis machine so depends how you build it.
I have to play with the constant velocity settings, going to try use G64 P XX where XX is the deviation from path, just don't know what to use for the deviation setting. When the g code creation software I am using says a one hour print it is taking two hours, not really a big deal in the scheme of things but as the prints get bigger so does the wasted time.
Cheers.
Russell.

Thanks Russell
They look really good.
I will be very interested to see what the quality of the finish is like and then I may well start making one of these for myself.Bob Willson

No probs at all, remember I have a wonky Z axis screw so that is affecting the finish, once I sort that it should be a lot better.
