just a small query Mike - you saod that the error message you got was "f100" and flashing.
Question -what was flashing - was it the digital numbers on the screen, or the small hz light above the display?
It might pay to just check again that you have the correct hz setting.

It seems that the screen on the unit would just keep flashing when I had the unit set in PD001 =1 mode.
When I changed the setting, this issue cleared and the spindle ran like a sweet sweet beautiful thing.

Reading through the manual it seems that by setting
PD002 = 1 and using a
10K Ohm potentiometer,
that the unit can be controlled without having to use the clunky control panel.
Has anyone looked at this and used this feature?
**EDIT*** - Seems the DC-06 is the way to go that Peter mentioned. Pete, will be sending you an order tomorrow.

PD024 looks to be a very useful feature. I assume you have to ground it to activate the stop feature.

From that I think he means 70ohm 300watt with PD031 set to 10%. I have no idea what the ED: 125 means.
I've sent him another email to get claification.
Using a pot is the manual way of setting the analog voltage that those speed controller boards do (basic voltage divider using the supplied 10vdc on one leg , the center wipe of the pot to VI and the other leg to ACM) Make sure PD070 is set correctly. The boards take a frequency or PWM signal from Mach or elsewhere and convert it to a VDC from 0-10. However these controllers are smart and designed to be spoken to by PLC's etc via the RS485 port so for full mach control i'm opting to go that way.
Usual warnings.. I've just read the manual a couple of times and have not tried mine yet (should be here next week i hope)

Here's what i was planning doing. The cross cuts are done with my trusty triton table saw with a Al blade and lost of wd40. Its 25mm thick plate and the clamps work on opposite sides so should be evenly spread. There will be two of them one near the top the other at the business end.Quote:

I made two of these. Top and bottom mount.
12mm rod bent to a 75mm ID. Then machined out to a neat 80mm ID to suit spindle.
Two 6mm bolts come from the back of the Z axis plate (not shown) and tighten it all up.

I've got one of the 2.2kW VFD's model number HY02D223B
I keep getting an error code..."EoUS" when I power it on.
Which according to Chai is meant to mean an over voltage on decel. This is fair enough, but, the VFD worked fine a number of times, then while it was sitting dorment, I saw the error come up on the screen. Also I am still getting the error even with the spindle disconnected:?
Chai is now telling me to put on a brakeing resistor, but as I say, Its not even connected. Should the brakeing resistor make any difference even with the spindle disconnected?
Any ideas?

I'll start off by saying I know anything. But I'd check all your parameters if I was you.
the way I read it if PD029 and PD30 are set to zero then no DC breaking is active and I'm pretty sure this is the only time you need a braking resistor (as the VFD tries to disapate the stored energy).
Also make sure PD008 is correct for you input voltage
You could also try setting stop to coast PD026 set to 1.
My copy of the manual that I got off the net does not have the fault codes and troubleshooting sections.
I would be wary of running the VFD without a load. Not sure tahts a good idea.
Factory defaults may NOT be correct for your motor etc ... check it all twice before pushing the run button.
Funny thing is that a 100ohm and 300watt resistor at Farnells is nearly the price of these VFD's.

I can't remember all the details, but there was a post on the CNC forum which addressed precisely this issue. Just go to the CNC site and query EoUS fault and I am sure you will get all the info.
