Tormach PCNC 1100 Vs Renishaw QC-10 Ball Bar
Some time before Xmas I picked up a Renishaw QC-10 ballbar in good condition. Today I was visiting CGroves who has a Tormach PCNC 1100. You can see this thread in the metal work section for details on why I was there. So we put the ballbar on his machine to get a survey of the accuracy.
See attached report of results. I was very impressed with the performance of the Tormach.

Next I will put it on the un-tuned CNC3020. And then see what can be done to make it better.

Will be interested to see the results. A handy piece of equipment to have and certainly not something us hobbyists are likely to come across.

It was one of those ebay bargins that seem to slip by unnoticed by anyone....
I put it on, just mounted on a steel plate... first thing... not so good, > 800 micron circularity so much so that it failed on the first run, it did not even continue for the second run..... After a little thinking it looks as if it is a feed rate problem >10% error in expected feed and measured feed. I'll see if I can correct that and get better data so that I can get to the second run.
anyway here is a pic of it on the 3020..

Possibly, but Jonathan Swift has a prior claim on it.

The term 'grammar nazi' was invented to make people, who don't know their grammar, feel OK about being uneducated.
