    From that photo the black and brown connections look to be a bit of a mess, and a also risk in that if poorly-connected, the joins can become hot during operation and fail catastrophically.

    That connector looks the same as the one on my spindle but mine had better soldering and insulation.
    Unfortunately the strain relief part broke when trying to install a heavier gauge, 4 core cable (original had no earth).
    I have a couple of Amphenol connectors but need to machine out the top of the spindle to fit them

    If you look at the picture showing the 1.5Kw spindle here you can see that I have bolted an amphenol base to the top of the spindle where the original audio connector was.
