    Unhappy Trouble with water cooling

The nipples on my spindle take about an 8 mm hose but the pump has a 10 mm outlet.
I have not been able to get a reducer.
    How would I do it?

you might be able to get away with softening the end of the hose in hot water before pushing it over the fitting.

Tried that, it didn't stretch enough.
Got a brass fitting in the local irrigation shop.
    Tomorrow will be test day
'bout time I get that thing up and running.
Hopefully I have enough pressure in the pump.

the adding of brass or copper will make coolant (anti corrosion) needed , the stainless steel spindle is OK on straight water , once you add copper or aluminium to the " circuit " electrolysis will start to happen , coolant will stop damage

never mix copper and aluminium threads they will corrode badly
stick to only copper / stainless or , aluminium /stainless

    Thanks for the advise
The brass fitting is only sitting in the plastic tubing, fittings on pump is plastic or whatever and on spindle they are chromed brass, coolant is already added so, hopefully, I should be OK.

What size pump did you end up getting?
Mine seems to be far too small, I keep on getting OL before the spindle even gets up to speed. Can't get above a frequency of 5.0 before it heats up and I get the OL message

after the original stopped working ( left it plugged in to the controller , with no water ) i went for a 240volt pump that died in 20 hours , i bought a good " coolant " pump for a lathe with self contained 10lt water box

    I have a Jabsco pump 12V/25psi/2.8gpm.
    Is that too powerful?

This one is self priming with a filter.
We used it to run our washing machine in the caravan.
Ain't got no caravan no more
    How's the furnace going?
