Uc cnc
Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone out there is using UC CNC software for their routers, if so I would like to hear from you e.g. all pros and cons, I am using Mach3 at the present moment and thinking of up dating to Mach 4. I have a uc100 and the cost of the UC CNC soft ware is a lot less than the changeover to Mach4, any info will be greatly appreciated.

Can't be much good, seems like no one is using the software, might try a different forum.
Regard

I believe Ger21 on CNCZone uses them, not sure about linking another forum here but if you search for ger21 on CNCZone then go to the thread titled which electronics to buy he has recently been posting about it.
Good luck.

+1 on LinuxCNC, I have used it for many years, pretty easy to setup especially on parallel port style configuration, which I started with. Currently using a MESA card on my latest machine and very happy with it.

Hi Nick - Did you make a decision? I've been using UCCNC for over a year and it has been very easy to use. I have no experience with Mach to compare but when I was building my router I was gearing up to use M3-4 and was reading the manual which is extremely thick. Then I decided to use a USB and UC100 motion control and thought for $99AUD why not use UCCNC? and it's been great. Easy to use dxf import for 2D and 2.5D stuff, easy GUI and everything is pretty much self explanatory. I did get good support setting it up, it seemed to have a glitch, turned out to be the Windows version, used another computer and it was correct after that. Cheers Peter S

Hi Peter Eng, yes I bit the bullet and invested in UCCNC and a UC100 controller, best investment I have ever made, the software is so much easier to set up and easy to use, I still have a look at the Mach3 Forum every now and then, and judging by the number of posts each day it seem like there may be more problems with Mach3
