    Default Ups

Anyone run a UPS on their machine.
I have been thinking of buying one for the latest machine and maybe mill given the power around here is switching off and on infrequently.

I would hate to have a power outage in the middle of a job. Especially when I was doing the last job which ran for hours and hours. All that work wasted as it's just to hard sometimes to pick up where you left off

    Hi Mike
It would have to be a fairly big UPS to run the computer, monitor, electronics, motors and spindle. If you are there to do a shut down then it might hold up.
    Cheers,

My thought on this was more to alleviate the hit of the loss experienced when they cut the load or rain gets on the line and you see the light dim or flicker. The flicker is the worst where it may lock the machine up or cause the drivers to fail/ not respond.

If I am at the machine, which is most cases as i don't trust it enought to leave alone for the entire job, then I may get enough time on the UPS to stop the machine, and close down the PC, retaining position of the cut.
