Those joints look really good. I think a lot of people might modify their machines now that you've shown the way. Excellent stuff!

Hi Ger, I have some measurements for you mate.

    Vertical Fixture Width - 250mm
Board Width - 150mm (can be anything up to 250mm)
    Board Thickness - 6mm, 13mm, 19mm
    Tool - 14*, 12mm diameter

Let me know if you need further info.

    Cheers

Do you want code to cut both left and right joints at the same time? If not, which side do you want to cut the joints on?
And can you cut the pin and tail boards together?

Is your fixture along the Y axis, or do you call that the X axis?

    Hi Ger,
The fixture spans what I have as the X Axis. (Easy for me to visualise when standing at the console).

Not too sure if I could cut pins and tails together, I am not quite understanding the orientation of the boards for such.

I would be nice to cut both left and right at the same time, I presume after the cut you would swap the board ends over and re-run the tool path to get the other end? Is my understanding correct.

Admittedly I am trying to understand it all in my head at the moment )

    Thanks for the assistance.

If your fixture width is 250mm total, then you can't cut both left and right at the same time if they are 150mm, unless I'm not understanding you?

See the attached pdf, and tell me if what I have labeled machine width is indeed 250mm. If so, I can do code for 100mm boards? The pdf is looking down at the table.X Axis dovetails.pdf
Also, do you need a high rapid height to clear the tall parts on the table?

    Hi Ger,
Thanks for your message. Your picture helped me get it clear in my head.

The width of the jig is indeed 250mm and the axis are as per the PDF.

I was a little confused initially, however I understand now with your drawing mate, makes sense now

Code for 100mm boards would be perfect.

    Thanks

Here you go. Proceed with caution. Preferably, run it high above your fixture and watch what it's doing to make sure there are no crashes.

You need to offset the pin boards 9.75mm from the outside edges, as the drawings show.
Stock size is 100mm wide, 13mm thick.
    Notes are in the g-code.

You may want to adjust the feedrate and rpm. I just guessed at the values.

If the fit is too loose, increase the depth of cut. If too tight, decrease the depth of cut. The depth is set to 9mm.

Gerry's program is a lot easier and far more accurate.

Unfortunately nothing further to report at this stage. Back at work getting smashed following a few weeks off.

Hopefully I will get to run Ger's fie this weekend if time permits...........................life is soooo much easier when you're on leave
