I put the bloody x axis screw the wrong way around and as you would be aware that means you have to dissemble the the x and start again .

no movement yet unlike my son I get reg movements with him all the time.

This weekend I will tackle the Controller all going well.

I can see it now you have pointed it out. First look I asumed the left hand side was the motor mount end but but now I remember there is just a coupling between the ballscrew and motor. I replaced the lovejoy with a stainless steel helical as I don't trust the lovejoys for zero backlash long term.

Perhaps you meant "from" instead of "with" in your last reference to motion.

My X3 is pounding out ballscrew mounts at the moment. I love being able to walk away and the job is still being done. Better walk faster to work up a sweat so SWMBO thinks I am working hard.
    Cheers,
    Rod

You basically join the wires in pairs, but you need to know what wires are for what coils.

Example of the 640 I stock which is also 8 wire.

    Wiring Bipolar Parallel
    A+ = Red + Blue
    A- = Yellow + Black
    B+ = White + Brown
    B- = Orange + Green

Yours has different wiring but its all here

Thats assuming you went with KL34H295-43-8A (the A and B just refers to single and dual shaft)

Depends on whether you want to draw fewer amps or more amps.
One gives you more power but less speed and the other gives you more speed but less power. But not necessarily in that order.

If it detunes to 540 oz-in I would assume its run in Bipolar Parallel @ 3.5A as if it was in Series it would still run at 906 oz-in but just not as fast.

Well I didn't get as far as I wanted but I am nearly done.

Peter Honmanns schematic really helped make it easy and I hope to have it done by Friday so then I can get the sparky at work to give it the once over when he comes in.

On the bottom plate when I can, I will mill a new one and will be adding two female iec connections I am thinking that these will be used to power the flood system and a light I have also added two relays one to control the flood system the other is a spare.

    G540 Driver
    EMG Stop Mushroom
Two switches one to shut the system down the other for manual control of the flood just in case .

So an axis a day to keep Big Willy in play.
