Mmmmm. A Nova Viking sounds real good. I'd be very happy with that too.

The viking is absolutely sensational, whisper quiet and powerful, and it's a great compromise on a pedestal drill which you need to allocate permanent floor space to. Mine is on a cabinet with wheels so I can move it around.

The only annoying thing about it is the shield/alarm assembly, its bulky and a real nuisance. Definitely want to bypass that I reckon!

I contemplated a replacement chuck - but it is a lot compared to the price of the whole unit (even at ~$118). Might go into the fund saved for a Nova.

I bought the drill at the sale price of ~250 and even with the price of this chuck, it's still a bargain.

If you've been waiting for a cheaper deal on the Bosch PBD 40, here it is. The Amazon Prime 2 day sale has come around again and the Bosch Bench Drill PBD 40 has been reduced to $299. If you're not an Amazon Prime member, no worries. You can get a 1 month free trial.

Has anyone else ordered and received the chuck yet? I ordered when it was originally mentioned, and then got a refund message from Amazon yesterday. I've had dispatch and tracking notices up to departure from the UK, then nothing.

Have tried ordering again (it's still @ $118)

I've received a refund message from Amazon before. In that instance, it meant that the package had been damaged in transit and was being returned to Amazon. There should be details on the order page about why it is being refunded.

I order mine a little while back (29 May) and received it no worries (8 June).

Likewise for me, but the packaging was atrocious when it arrived. No damage but I expected to find some.

I received my chuck within 3 days after the ordered was placed.

No reason for the return on my amazon account, and I'm still waiting for the $ to hit my bank account.
Have re-ordered, so will see what happens.

The Röhm Chuck is currently at $109.79 on Amazon. That's cheaper than I paid.

The Amazon Black Friday sale has come around again and the Bosch Bench Drill PBD 40 has been reduced to $274, so better than last year’s $299. It's usually $429. Free delivery.

    Received.

    Its HUGE.

I expected something far more "toy like".... but this is a nice size indeed.

There appears to be no appreciable play in the quill.
