Exclamation CEJN eSafe Quick air Couplings

    safety squint.jpg

Every time I connected and disconnected things from my compressor line (which is only a small home shop beastie), I did the safety squint, and made sure I had my ear protection in. It always felt like the thing wanted to take my hand off and make my ears bleed.

I stumbled across CEJN's 'eSafe' couplings, so thought I'd give them a go as I needed to make up some new hoses for my new retracta air reel.

CEJN website - the 315 series are 'Asian' standard which is what most of our air couplings seem to be.

They're a bit more pricey than the cheapo nitto-style fittings from the usual suspects (3-5x as much), so you'd want them to be a significant improvement.

I bought a few different variations to try - from left to right: 10mm barb; Push-fit; 1/4" female BSP, and a standard cheap 1/4" fbsp nitto fitting on the far right for comparison.

As you can see, they're a bit bigger than the usual fittings.

And do they work? Absolutely. Connect and disconnect with one hand (two fingers), and a barely audible 'pffft' of air. The difference is night & day - it almost feels like there's no pressure in the air line at all.

For me, they're a game changer - I won't be using anything else for my air tools from now on.

I have been using CEJN fittings for twenty plus years, would not use anything else, first thing I do if a tool comes Nitto C#$P is replace the tale with CEJN, yes I have CEJN fittings that are 20 years old and still as good as the day I purchased them.

Are you buying them online from the link and they send them from Sweden ?
Or are they sold here somewhere?

Total tools do them, although they're expensive, and currently out of stock.
I found mine on eBay from CCAS solutions (just search for CEJN) - make sure you select the eSafe version as they do others, or sold direct from their website (CEJN eSafe 315 Series Nitto Profile Coupling - Complete Compressed Air Systems).

Ultramax also do them, but I couldn't get their website to work
