I have finally got a picture of this vase Please find attached
First picture seems to be in reasonable condition
Second picture with three vases, they need a lot of cleaning to restore them.

This will start an interesting conversation here, but I'm game

Clean with a paste made out of salt and vinegar then rinsed off, alternately
Clean with tomato Sauce.

I used to do a lot of brass and copper polishing as part of my business and the items in the photo were pretty typical of what I would be given to polish. I had the proper polishing gear ie various buffs, mops , compounds etc so it was easy to do. If you don't want to go to the expense of getting your own gear (or getting a metal polisher to do it for you) there are a couple of products that will do an excellent job. The product/s are called Nevr Dull or Brite Shine. Brite Shine is available from auto places like autobarn, super cheap auto etc. and Nevr Dull is quite often sold at a lot of the specialist hardwares that sell brass door or cabinet fittings.These products are identical and come from the USA. It is in a tin 90mm diam x 90mm high. It is a cotton wadding that is impregnated with a cleaning agent and you just tear a small portion of the wadding and rub the article to be cleaned. Depending how tarnished the items are will determine how hard you need to rub. Once the item is cleaned just polish the item with a soft cloth to get a bright shine. The more you rub with the wadding the brighter the finish.It is an excellent product and costs between $14 - $20 per 142g tin.
