Default Old bevel mirrors new life idea

I picked a small old mirror and frame up out of a farm bonfire thinking I could maybe reuse it with a dresser top I had minus the mirror and frame. Different wood under the dark brown crusty BLO (?) and wrong size The mirror has lost nearly half of it's silver due to ant's nest on the silver. Instead of dumping as a waste of time I thought I could strip the remaining silver off, clean up the frame, and make it into a small cabinet door.

The mirror is heavy but the pine back cover coming off is some weight reduction. I know I could make it wall hanging but I was looking for ideas on freestanding that wouldn't fall over when the door was opened. Any ideas anyone can point me to?
