church pews
Hi,
Has any one got any tips on how to restore church pews, they are of silky Oak and are black with grime.
I had intended on sanding back and spraying with 2 pack polyurethane clear.

Hi give me a call if you wish, 0404 000 738 my workshops are at Burleigh.
As I have done a lot of Ecclesiastic restorations in cathedrals around Australia there is a chance I maybe able to point you in the right direction.
Hold off sanding them as there are ways (short cuts) which also assist in maintaining the integrity of the pieces as well cleaning them.
Cheers
