    Default Door repair

Hi Folks, I have a friend that is restoring a very old house and is desperate to use the original internal doors.
One however has been damaged (kicked) a some time and has split the lower centre timber and a piece has log been lost. I have had no luck dismantling the lower section and don't believe an inset would work. I am looking for advice on what filler to use.

    thanks

Pictures will help. Fillers are only good for small cracks

It's likely the door is held together using wedged tenons. From your phrasing, I'm unsure whether the damaged area is in a rail or a panel?
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.
