removing gloss from dining table.
Earlier I was trying to restore an old table, that ended in disaster due to chipboard top being glued thoroughly to the timber top and I had to use a chisel to remove then thought Id use clear resin to fill the divots, however the resin went dark and looks like a bird has crapped dark loads all over.
The legs are fine, the flat white chic rustic country look.
So I got hold of a better quality table apart from professional gloss spray finish over it all. \My plan is to remove this top and fix to the previous white legs.
But how can I remove the gloss finish and have just a flat/satin finish. I cannot have the table in raw timber.
I am doing the chairs same way.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

Paint stripper, then refinish in satin.

Maybe try rubbing down with sandpaper (600g?). Then finish with a polish. Doubt it will be uniform though.
If it doesn't turn out then strip.
Just a thought.

sanding with 240 gets the gloss off nicely
FB can be a waste of time but also useful.
I did a search and found a guy I used to work with, he was repair man at a shoddy furniture factory I worked at for 6 weeks back in 90's. Renewed the friendship and as he did a lot of spraying touchups, suggested 240I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds
