Trouble matching timber
Hello everyone, I ,am having trouble matching the new timber, with the old timber , the timber is queensland maple quarter cut, the new piece is on the draw in the middle, the two outside one are the old timber, have try shoe polish, bleach, and acid, But I,am having trouble with the moisture, the timber and the glue don,t like it, any help pls

Matching old timber with new would have to be one of the hardest things to do successfully, especially if you are aiming to keep the matured look of the top and and bottom parts.
one of the reasons it is so difficult is that if you use stains/dyes etc, the top and bottom pieces will continue to 'mature' while the middle piece will pretty much retain the same look and colour. So what starts out as 'matching' will end up looking very unmatched later.
the only suggestion I can offer, is to stand all pieces back to raw timber and then apply your finish to each piece. All three will then start maturing at as close as possible to the same rate and look similar in the years to come.
