    Default Veranda coffee time table

I picked this table up for $5 as a throw out item. It was very scruffy and had a split in the middle. To date I cleaned down the metal base and painted with gloss black. The the top was stripper. For the split I ran each side through the planer. Finally I brought them together with clamps and screwed the boards underneath in new locations. Then I applied 2 layers of oil based gloss.

I'm keen to know if this was some sort of training requirement people had to do in making this patch work of Australian wood types. I grabbed it because of interest in this fact. So far I can only say there is silky oak and red cedar that I know.
