Default Looking for wooden toy maker

    Hi
I am looking for someone who has some experience making wooden toys- puzzles, rattles, board games, etc. I have a few ideas up my sleeve and would like to get them made up. I would like to work with a splinter-free wood, like beech wood if possible. Otherwise, open to other suggestions if they are better. I am Melbourne based. Thanks

G'Day and welcome to the forum, along with the wonderful world of toymaking.

Their are few beaut toymakers around Melbourne but maybe you could also put out a call to the local Woodwork Club or Men's Shed requesting assistance.

If you're near Geelong, they have a beaut woodwork club there with some of the members on the forum.

Sorry I can't help as Blue Mountains is a long way from Melbourne [thankfully ].

    Good luck.
    Cheers, Crowie

It may help or encourage others to respond if they knew a little more about your proposal / request? Is it a one-off, limited production or for resale?

These days most wood workers steer away from children's toys especially ride-on toys as the common wood workers product liability insurance policies mostly have specific exclusions for "sit-on or climb-on toys." Unfortunately a sign of the times, to much litigation.
