Thanks guys
I have done a bit more work , but bowls is a big time consumer. Last home and away game this Saturday. Currently 4th on ladder and must win to make finals.
Should have some photos of the Thatcher - Perkins in the next few days.

Keith

Hi All,
Back onto the loco. Bowls is finished. Lost our Elimination Final on Saturday, but the entire Bowls season now over because of COVID-19. No more finals and no premiers in our competition this year. I can stay out in the shed as long as I like.
I have made the bell assembly and the headlamp. The headlamp is made of pine with a glazed cover at the front. Fitted a small 240V globe into the lamp for authenticity.
The bell is a handbell I got at a $2 shop and pulled apart and then fitted into a moving assembly that I made out of MDF.
Regards
Keith

Sorry to hear Bowls has been curtailed, but it does give us more shed time; either that or more time with the partner.
Your model is starting to ring a tune. Will need to build up some steam now for the whistle.
Looking forward to the rest of the build.

Sad news on the bowls front Keith but the bright side for us at least is we get to see your great workmanship on the Loco. Looking great as always.
Take care over there and keep safe from this dreadful virus. This message is for all woodworkers on here.
I thought I would be back in the workshop after the rebuild of my wood store that lost its roof in the winds, but alas not yet sorting the greenhouse out to start some of the seeds off.
I did manage a bowl in the last couple of days

Hi All,
Been doing quite a bit of time out in the shed. The "cow catcher" has been really enjoyable to design and make. Lots of different angles to get machined up and then fitted. Beer can to give indication of scale.
The headlamp looks a bit "wonky" at the moment. Just sitting there. It is my next job to fit securely.
Everybody keep safe
Regards
Keith

Hi All,
I modified the front section of the loco to allow more space for the front cover to be fitted. The front cover plate was machined out of pine on the wood lathe between centres.
I made up a base plate for the head lamp which included jacking screws to enable the lamp to be adjusted up or down. the next step will be hinges and locking screws for the opening cover.
Regards
Keith
