A week has flown by since my last post, spent hours trying to figure out some way of concealed hinging, lack of space and thickness of panels made it impossible.
Reverted back to hinges I have used on previous models. Made templates for the panels and doors but still had to do a hell of a lot of sanding, dremel and Ryobi power file plus hand sanding.
In between the hub caps were made , the Mercedes emblem will be permanent marker between coats of lacquer. Still heaps to do , bumpers, lights , handles and trimmings. John.

Peter, I started with 200mm of 12x5, rounded the top edge , cut to 12 mm lengths. Drilled 1.5 mm holes threaded on to brass rod. John

You will notice that the Gullwing has been moved to toy making.
I asked for it to be moved, as I progress with the model , the more its not true to scale . John.

Hope you have a top day, John.

Must have been misery as a kid, having your birthday so close to Xmas.
That reminds me - my brother's birthday is on Wednesday.

    Enjoy your outing too.
