Trev, I've been away for a week but sir, you have certainly been busy, though the serial/cereal puns were a bit cardboard-ish........top job on the tank and forks thus far....Peter

G'day Peter I'd noticed you hadn't been about much.
The forums just not the same when your not on board (bit of a naval pun there).
So don't go AWOL to often!.

Glad you like the progress on the bike.

    Cheers Mate

I got some good work done before it got to hot in the shed.
It's all pretty rough but I gave things a coat of primer to get a good look at how it's all going.
The tapers on the forks are looking fairly good.
As is the clearance to the recess in the tank.

    IMG_8207.JPG IMG_8208.JPG IMG_8206.JPG

I still might make the top of the recess a little deeper.
That would let me slide the tank further up onto the steering throat and set the forks back more into the tank.

    IMG_8203.jpg IMG_8209.jpg

I'll get some more of the forks done before deciding on that one.

    By the way

    Cheers
    Trev.

Just bailed out of my shed too. I'm 'only' cleaning and reorganising, not being productive like you, but it is 42 degrees outside in the shade and my old darkroom thermometer hanging inside the shed, has redlined at 50 degrees!
The Brough is looking beautiful Trevor. I think it's time for another magazine article.

I don't know how long it will last but the weathers nice and mild down here this morning!.

Your idea of having some contact with the folks in England sounds pretty good fletty.
I may need some advice on all the plumbing on the Brough.

I got lucky the other day and found some more photos of the bike I'm using as a reference.
Their good quality high res and show some different angles, so I can see quite a bit more of the detail.

Like the primer pump on the oil tank has a pipe that comes out of side of it.
Originally I thought the primer was just to keep some pressure in the oil tank.
Now I'm thinking the pipe must be the one that's connected to the back of the oil pump on the crankcase.

It's all pretty tight in there and hard to see just what goes where, a bit of a mud map from some one in the know would be very helpful!.

Best I get back to the shed before the nice weather goes out the window (or in this case the roller door).

    Cheers
    Trev.
