Works been slow over the last couple of days.
Really fiddley stuff cutting back bodyfiller and shaping the fins around the head.
I've got the inlet done as well as the boss for the sparkplug.

    IMG_8386.jpg IMG_8387.jpg

Next is the fins across the head including the valves.

    Cheers
    Trev.

I've gotten the first side of the rocker supports in place.
Tricky little shaped thing to make, in the end I laminated sections of 2 and 3mm MDF and built it up that way.

    IMG_8389.jpg IMG_8393.jpg

Also cut and roughly positioned the valve guides, and when I say roughly I do mean roughly.

I know Charlie likes to see photos of the mess I can make before it's all cleaned up!.

I got quite a bit further along with the head of the cylinder today.
I've added sleeves around each of the valve guides to make them wide enough for the springs that sit on top of them.

Buy the way have a look at the second photo below.
Is it just me or does that look like one of the creators from Star Wars?.

I had enough time left in the day to make the first two of the fins that cross the head.
Mind you their the easiest as the rest need to be worked around the valve guides.

Oh before someone we all know makes a joke about whether or not the fins are straight this time?.
The answer is yes Dave they are!.

    Cheers

    Hey Trev,

I was thinking it looked like "The Heart" of the bike, but yeah, it is a Star Wars lookalike.

BTW, Dave's never been a nit-pickin' bustard. (It was meeeeee!!!!)

Today I made a few changes to the head.
I've thinned down the top of the rocker support, and lowered the valve guides.
Also got the fins that fit between the valves done.

    IMG_8420.jpg IMG_8424.jpg IMG_8425.jpg

There's some tricky little free standing fins that need to be put in front of the exhaust valve.
Then the other side of the rocker support, and the first cylinders pretty much done.

After that it's the same thing only backwards on the second cylinder.

    Cheers
    Trev.
