Nice and sunny down here today so I've given the cylinder it's first coat of satin black.

    IMG_1252.jpg

Also been working on the second cylinder.
It's coming along I've added the base and just started shaping in the ports.

    IMG_8530.jpg IMG_8531.jpg

It all looks a little messy at the moment but it should hopefully all work out.

    Cheers
    Trev.

Kept working on the cylinder head today.
Added the two valve guides and the fins in between them.

    IMG_8538.jpg IMG_8542.jpg

After fitting the valve guides I rough cut the fins and put them in place using bodyfiller to secure them.
Then I used a Dremel and a sanding block to reduce the fin ends to the angle of the valve guide.

    IMG_8544.jpg IMG_8546.jpg

I did the same thing again to level the top of the fins.
Then I filled and sanded the area to blend the fins together.

    IMG_8548.jpg IMG_8549.jpg

After that I filled the spaces between the PVC pipes and the valve guides to make it appear as if their all one part.
Tomorrow I'll work on the remaining fins.

    Cheers
    Trev.

    Hey Trevor,

Will you make it to Dave's this weekend with the Spirit of Australia issues? I can't make it unfortunately.

Lovely work that you're photographing. Scamander must be good for you.

Not my happiest time at the moment I just let Dave know that I'm not up to traveling at the moment and wont be able to make the GTG.
Which is a so and so to say the least.
I was really looking forward to seeing all of the guy's.

I'll be posting Blue Wren's on the photography forum from now until forever trying to make up for it!.

I haven't got a lot more done on the engine, but the fins that run through the centre of the head are finished.
All I need to do now is the two rocker supports and give it a few coats of paint.

    IMG_8655.jpg IMG_8657.jpg

Whoops just looked at the photos and noticed the lack of a sparkplug boss.
Best I add that to the to do list!.

With both cylinders being almost complete I was able to run a piece of PVC pipe (acting as a inlet manifold) from one to the other.

    IMG_8653.jpg

Each cylinder is set at 25 degrees making it a 50 degree V Twin!.
I'm glad the angles worked out that well, it would've been tricky to adjust them at this stage of the game.

Anyway sorry again to Dave and everyone for not making the GTG.
But just think of the most inappropriate thing to say at the most inappropriate time and it will be just like I'm there!.

    Cheers
    Trev.

G'Day Trevor, Personally I'm sadden to hear you can't make the GTG, I do hope all's well and all gets better.
Many blokes/folk will miss your sleeveless attire and shoeless feet along with your exacting conversation.
I'll ensure Dave puts your NAME TAG in a special place along with a photo for all to view.
Keep up the fascinating work on this model with you detailed skills and expertise which are a joy to see progress.
    Cheers good friend, Peter

    Hey Trev,

    Engine is looking absolutely fabulous.

Think of the positive - you won't have to share a beer with me - knowing how much you love a beer

Hope all is O.K down there Trev. I was looking forward to doing a bit of bird photography with you and your 600mm lense, which looks like a real cracker.
The Brough is coming along nicely, your attention to detail is second to none. (Hope Keith doesn't see this!)
I'm sure you will be at Dooen in spirit, maybe we can Photoshop you into one of the group photos.

    Stay well,
    Alan...
