The last few days have been spent working on the float bowls for the Carburettor.
IMG_8977.jpg IMG_8987.jpg
I've pretty much finished one of the bowls,
It's made of PVC, MDF, a few washers and a nut.
The knurled edge on the cap is plastic from the lid of a 2 litre milk bottle.

As you can see I'm still working on second of the bowls.
I'm not to sure what the armicher that their mounted on is called so I'll go with doohickie!
I've started shaping the left side of the doohickie which is just a piece of pine.

Just for giggles I've added a part number to the body of the carbie.
I really like this engine, it sure looks tough enough!.
Cheers

I've got the duel float Amal Carburettor pretty much knocked out.
I think it's all come up well.
IMG_8992.jpg
I maybe missing a little detail on the part I'm calling the doohickie, it's the piece that holds the two float bowls in place.
I'll do a bit more research over the weekend and see what I can find.
IMG_8994.jpg IMG_8997.jpg
I've lengthened the tube over the opening of the carbie a little to bring it more inline with the bowls.
I just reckon it looks kooler that way (a little bit of artistic licence).
IMG_9006.jpg IMG_8999.jpg
I'll have a go at making a couple of Sparkplugs over the weekend.
IMG_8998.jpg IMG_9003.jpg
I've got to nick into the museum tomorrow and pickup the Indian.
Hopefully they'll have something there with some 1920's era Lodge plugs in it.
Cheers

I got the first of the two plugs pretty much knocked into shape.
It's meant to look like a Lodge H1 from around 1925.
1925 Lodge.jpg
The fittings I've got on top of the plug are obviously wrong at the moment, but they'll do until I find better ones.
IMG_9089.jpg IMG_9094.jpg IMG_9098.jpg
The plugs made from washers, bits of pens, MDF and plastic pipe.
I'm pretty happy with the way it's come up so I'll get stuck into the other one.

Trev,
Looking excellent. Us metal turners would be able to turn up the top of the spark plug screwed fittings for you. I assume they would be imperial. If you send some detail - I will knock a couple up for you
