    Trevor,

Hope your back gets better soon . I know what its like. You don't have to be an old man - although I am.

Your gauge face looks tremendous. What are you going to use to engrave the globe ?

    Regards

    Keith

    Thanks Keith.
I'm sure my Dremel will be up to the task.
As for me not so sure, that engraving needs to be pretty small!

    Cheers mate.

You'll get used to seeing me around. When I told Dave I was leaving that other site I asked him to email me a photo of this project once you got it finished. He suggested that I join up and when I did I discovered that I already had an account here. It must have been one of the things taht fell through the cracks when I had a stroke several years ago, cause I totally forgot I had it.

As far as signing off with Rep... well.... we'll see if I generate any bad habits......

As far as the coach is concerned, I may start a thread elsewhere, but I won't distract from yours by posting it in here.

Johnnie me old mate I'd love to see a thread for the Coach.
I know it's a bit old hat for you, but really I think everyone here would really enjoy seeing it!

    Great having you here!

    Cheers mate.

Still watching in amazement at the workmanship you are putting into the bike, I can't wait to see it finished but I know there is still quite a bit of work to go yet.

Thank you for the journey so far

Thanks mate I really appreciate that.
I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Hopefully it's not that 12:20 to Stoke on Trent
It's well over 2000 hours that's gone into it so far!
But I've enjoyed every one of them

    Cheers mate

That is what it is all about gaining enjoyment out of your hobby/interests. And in your case sharing as well

This rather odd looking piece is the bottom of the headlight switch.
The gauge face with it is the same one from the other day to give idea of scale.

I'll find some thread, washers and nuts at the recyclers.
I'm think an old VCR should have what I'm looking for.

You can see the layout I'm after on the original below.

It will be great fun getting it all wired up and looking the part.

    Cheers

Trevor do you have a wiring schematic for the bike?

There's the head and tail light, the instrument light, and magneto. I know you already made a generator and magneto. I'm just wondering how you'll handle the wires.

That's a really good question mate!
I wont to get it looking believable, but you know me that's not to say accurate!
I was pretty much thinking when it came time for the wiring we could put your heads together
and get it looking the part.

With your background Johnnie I don't need a wiring diagram

    Cheers mate.

After a ton of mucking around I've got a headlight gauge face I'm happy with.

    IMG_2090.jpg

Everything is still rough cut and needs to be cleaned up.
But I think it all has the right look to it so far.

    IMG_2092.JPG

Don't mind all of the dust underneath.
It gives it a more antique appearance.
Or a least that's my excuse for not cleaning it up.

    Cheers
    Trev.
